Inspired by extensive travels throughout Portugal and Spain and the beautiful azulejos found throughout these countries, artist Lisa-Maj Roos shares her fascination with these centuries old tiles, taking you on a historic journey of their magnificent colours and textures through encaustic form. ​

New work will be on display at ArtsPlace in Annapolis Royal from 07 August to 18 September 2021 in the Library Gallery or through the artist after the show. You can see the new work online.

I am extremely proud to have been a part of the launch of this fantastic artist house in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia with my working studio, The Twisted Doorbell Studio Gallery, during the summer of 2017. The Lucky Rabbit & Co. features members who represent a wide variety of mediums. From pottery to leather, painting to music -- this unique milieu reflects the creativity of our thriving arts community.

Built in the late 1800s, this building has served as a home/gallery for the last several years for the creators of Lucky Rabbit Pottery. Now, every room boasts an artist and their own unique creative space -- Lucky Rabbit Pottery & Tile Shop, Atelier 1605, Tartan Wave, Dan Froese Photography, musician Scott Williams.

14 Bells Fine Art Gallery is in the historic Hydrostone Market, 5523 Young St, steps away from Fort Needham Park. The gallery supports contemporary Canadian artists and brings you pieces that are high quality, smart and engaging. Most of the gallery artists are from Nova Scotia with a sprinkling of painters from other parts of Canada. The subject matter, size and style of the work varies greatly on the bright walls of the 1400 sq ft space.  The work is high quality but priced reasonably.

I am so honoured to be hanging out with so many talented Canadian artists.

Midtowne Gallery is a commercial gallery within the long established and leading picture framing business It’s Worth Framing in south Calgary at 9250 Macleod Trail. With a background in visual art and experience in framing, they unveiled a gallery one year ago to present fine art to their clientele and Calgary in general. 

From August 22, Midtowne Gallery will be hosting an exhibition of all the artists who have shown since they opened their doors one year ago; including Hugo Dubon, Lisa Roos, Annette Resler, Kathleen Theriault, Jeff Burgess, Sheila Schaetzle, Kathleen McCallum, Doug Farries and others.

Very excited and humbled to be participating in the Third Annual "TEA PARTY", an exhibit showcasing the art of The Naked Leaf tea shop artists from November 6 to 30th!

More exciting news!  I have been asked to display my artwork at WINE Ink, a lovely boutique wine store on 17th Avenue in Calgary.  I first happened upon this gem after reading about their wines (of course!) in a local publishing; intrigued not only by their amazing selection, wealth of knowledge, and quickness to hand off a little sample-dee-doo as you walk in the door, but by the fabulous old brick decor and the artwork on their walls.  To my huge delight I discovered that the artwork is from local talent and that WINE Ink is a huge supporter of emerging artists in Calgary.  WINE + ART = HAPPINESS!! 

Any time is a good time to stop by WINE Ink at #101, 932 17th Ave. SW Calgary, AB but during the months of September and October you'll be able to see my artwork.  While you're there, don't forget to browse the unique and wonderful offerings on the shelves.  My personal favourites are Eastern Europe.  I'll definitely be hanging out over there!  ;)
